Volunteering We are currently looking for help as follows:
Church Secretary Pam has been our Church secretary for about 20 years. She feels that it is time to retire and let someone else take on the task. The work involves taking minutes at 5 PCC meetings a year and keeping the electoral roll and the GDPR list up to date . It also involves answering telephone enquiries on occasion and directing the person to the right source of help. Help and support is available from others if someone is willing to take on this job.
Church Magazine Editors Clive and Lesley have been doing this job for 17 years and feel that it needs fresh energy and drive. If anyone would like to take this on, particularly if they have a background in publishing or marketing it would be most welcome. The magazine is published once a month in the last week of the month online and in hard copy. The job involves collating various articles, writing up small articles of news or upcoming events, finding interesting articles to include from online websites and sending the A5 draft to Chelmsford Office in time to be printed. It is not a difficult job once you settle into it , but it does need a fresh face.
Church building maintenance Parish Work day Saturday 16th October Our next parish work day will be on 16 October from 10am 3.00pm and this time we need to work inside the Church cleaning, de-cobwebbing and polishing and outside in the grounds to tidy up ready for Christmas and Winter. We also need to inspect the roof, gutters and drains so if anyone is prepared to hold ladders this will be much appreciated. A fish and chip lunch is provided for those who come along and tea and coffee are available.
Jumble Sale Jumble sale Saturday 23rd October We are now collecting new Jumble and this can be brought to Church on a Sunday or phone 01277 215619 for arrangements to drop off at other times. Please do not leave jumble outside the doors as pre-school cannot get in and there is no-one here to collect it. Help will be needed on the Friday night beforehand to set up tables and sort jumble from 6pm and also on the day.
English Lessons We have a group of mums from the food hub who are trying to improve their English conversation and grammar skills. If anyone would like to volunteer to help, we can always use an extra pair of hands. You do not need to be trained, help with making tea and looking after children is always useful.
The Christmas Bazaar Saturday 20th November If you would like to help on the day in any way please let us know.
