29 May Results of the elections to the positions of ChurchWarden, PCC members and Deanery Synod representatives are available here. 25 May The Food Hub opening hours will be changing, from 3 June, to 10-11:30am. 20 May Mother Jane Bradbury has announced her intention to retire later in 2023. St George's will therefore go into an Interregnum for a period of time while we search for a new Priest-In-Charge. 8 May The AGM and the ACPM will be held on Sunday 28th May 2023 immediately after the Church Service. 23 April Come to our next Jumble Sale - 13 May 11am+ 29 March Join us for afternoon tea on 20 April from 2pm. 15 March Our last Winter Warm Space Lunch will take place on Saturday 18 March. We are looking into continuing a similar concept from spring onwards. Details to follow! 28 February The next Manna Meals coffee morning will take place on 15 April. 8 January We are delighted to be a part of the Essex County Council winter warmth initiative where we'll be able to welcome everyone for soup, hot drinks on certain dates during the colder winter period. This is for anyone who wants to donate any food/toiletries to the food hub. Items especially needed at the moment are:
1 August The August edition of the magazine, above, has all the news from St Georges for the month ahead. 30 July Our next jumble sale will be on Saturday 13th August at 11am. We need good jumble, clothes , shoes ,toys, books, pre-loved, home furnishings, CD’s, bags and school uniform (esp. St Thomas’s school). We cannot take large items or furniture – try Lighthouse Furniture Project for this- we can take ladies bras and baby clothes in good condition as these are passed on to charities. Left over jumble goes to the dealer and we start with fresh jumble each time. Please bring jumble on Sunday mornings before 11am or ring 01277 215619 for other times when I will open the Church for you. We do not collect, but can make arrangements for people who are not mobile. Help is needed setting up tables on Friday evening 12th August from 6pm and also on the day to help sort jumble, serve on stalls, and clear away afterwards. Tickets are £1 and can be purchased from Nicola Parry in advance or from Jan and Lesley on Sunday. Children's Christmas Party 21st December in the church hall 4.30-6.30pm. We have an entertainer and food available all free of charge. Open to children in the parish as well as those who use our food hub.
