St Georges has a diverse and welcoming congregation made up from people of all ages.
We welcome the residents of our local Care and community homes along with their carers, who regularly support us. Our local Bishop described us as a "Rainbow Church"

The History of St George's Church
St George’s is an Art Deco (also known at Gaumont-Odeon style) Church dedicated to the worship of Almighty God in 1934.
St George's is Church of England and in the diocese of Chelmsford.
A local Brentwood born and educated architect, Laurence King OBE, designed most of our church.
He also: rebuilt St Mary-le-Bow, London after the War, worked on Blackburn Cathedral, built the
All Souls Chantry Chapel at Walsingham and rebuilt the parish Church there after a disastrous fire.
